Soak up the sun and bohemian attitude of this laid-back beach community.
Surf, sand and – of course – plenty of sunshine make Queensland’s Sunshine Coast one of Australia’s most sought-after holiday destinations. This region isn’t as intensely developed as the Gold Coast, its posh neighbour to the south. Instead, it offers the same warm weather, dynamic entertainment and alfresco atmosphere as its neighbour, all with a more laid-back attitude. That’s not to say the Sunshine Coast doesn’t cater to upmarket travellers. All it takes is a trip to Hastings Street in Noosa for a taste of the high life. But this stretch of golden sand also has plenty of bohemian enclaves and funky surfer villages to fill out the appeal.
